Did you hear that?

Wait....do you hear that? No, I did. Wait, there it is again. Are you sure you can't hear it? Oh, now you hear it. Yup, it was the grandparents (Capozzolis and Seyberts) screaming, yelling, cheering - oh whatever you want to call it - because we finally have a REAL guest bed. No more sleeping on the pullout sofa. William will be the first to test out the new guest bed. I'll let you know how it goes.

Italy videos

It has only been 13 months since our vacation to Italy and I have finally gotten around to uploading our videos. Two of the videos are views from our Hotel in Verena on Lake Como. The other video is of the walkway in the Cinco Terra. So, check them out. They are in the Capozzoli Video section of the blog. Scroll down to the bottom and enjoy the views.

Bedhead

Paulie's hair always seems to crack me up. Whether it was long, curly, and crazy or short and wavy, it has personality. This is the hair that I was greeted with this morning. Hum, can you say bedhead! I just love his hair. I thought that the curls would go away when we cut the hair, but I think the crazy Einstein look is making a come-back. What do you think?

Some things don't change

Our family, mainly the appearance of the boys and their outfits at certain times, have loving been deemed feral by our friends, The Whitneys. Mike and Laura would often visit our house when our children would run wild, as children often do, wearing only their under garments. Sometimes this was because Mom just didn't have the time to dress them or on other occasions, Mom was just too darn tired from dealing with two small boys and the fact they were even somewhat clothed was good enough. I know that the Whitneys, especially Mike, loved these moments and got some good, honest belly laughs from these times. We wanted to let them know that the location may change and might even become a bit more upscale (living on the 17th tee of a golf course), but the behavior remains the same......we are still feral. The following pictures were taken in honor of Mike and Laura.

The Capozzoli version of the coloring book

For those of you who are avid visitors to our family blog, you already know the history of the Capozzoli coloring book. For those that are new......well.....just take a look at the following pictures. A few things to know while you are admiring the artist's work. The subject is loyal, patient, loving, and in awe of the artist. The subject works for cheap pay.....playtime, attention, hugs, and kisses. The artist loves to develop his craft, taking pictures of his subject on a daily basis (if Mommy let him). The artist adores his subject and often takes advantage of the subject's dedication and devotion to him. But in the end this is what develops from their partnership.

A dancing man

Paulie was born with a love of music. Whenever it is on he runs to the source and just dances away. He loves the Leap Frog refrigerator magnets that play the A-B-C song and Old McDonald songs. I often find him dancing in the kitchen to the music. Here he is dancing away in his highchair.

Some ole' fashioned fun

The Village of Aberdeen had a Bluegrass Festival at the Malcom Blue Farm last night. We decided to take the kids and check it out. The festival was on the smaller side, but it was still fun. Lots of running in an open field with some toys from the older days....barrell tires with sticks and wooden walking sticks. The boys ran and ran while listening to some great local bluegrass bands. Listen closely to the music in the back ground of the videos.

Photography by William Capozzoli

Our resident photographer found my digital camera and took some shots of his favorite subject. This is what I found on my camera when I went to upload some pictures onto the blog. I must say he has a good eye....and a very loyal and cute subject.

Does this remind you of anyone? A big mouth, open all the time?! Humm.....

Love the eye.

Happy Father's Day

We have had a great Father's Day, so far. Paulie slept late!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a first in our new home. So we all slept late. Then, the boys and I awoke and made breakfast for Daddy, which we all ate in our bed. Daddy had several cards from Mommy and his boys and then the most important part of Father's Day (at least this is what William says), PRESENTS! We then called Papa and Grandpa to wish them a Happy Father's Day. We plan to spend the rest of the day relaxing and grilling on our new grill. Here are some pictures from the morning.

Hugs and kisses from William.

New Saturday routine

The move to North Carolina has been a good one, and has brought some good routine back into our lives. Kevin's work is now Monday thru Friday. The hours are LONG.....very long. But, we knew that...and we are adjusting to it. Paulie seems to be having a difficult time with Daddy's new schedule, but kids are resilient and he will adjust in time. The good side to this is we get the weekends to be totally together. Don't get me wrong, we had alot of free time at our previous location, but there were always weird work hours that would creep into the schedule. So, it seems since we now have Saturdays and Sundays together, we have developed a new Saturday routine.

We awake, relax a bit and then go to the Mommy gym....the entire family. The boys go to the kids center, Mommy takes her deep water jogging class, Daddy does his workout and then we all meet again in the pool and play. The boys love playing in the pool with all the toys and floaties. We then come home (or run around downtown Southern Pines), relax and then enjoy the rest of the day. Now so bad and we are healthier for it. It is nice to have a routine and to get some great exercise in the process.

Pictures and music

I straightened the house today, did some laundry and got a few more things unpacked. While our bedroom looked "nice" I thought I would take a few pictures for the blog. I noticed Paulie was following me around like a hound dog after a bone. And, I wondered "what is he doing?!" Then it hit me, he was posing for the camera. So here are some shots of Paulie smiling for his picture.

Too cute! He has somethin' in his smile and eyes...a twinkle that will take him places.

Here are a few more shots of our new home.

This is our entry way.
Our dining room. Please excuse the clutter. This is a work in progress while I wait for our garage to get completed. The hallway to the bedrooms. That is the master at the end.

Our private patio. I envisioned sitting out here with a glass of wine after a long day or a cup of hot coffee in the morning, reading the paper and enjoying the quiet. You will notice that will probably NOT happen......hum, take a look at all the toys. Yup, it has become the "boys" favorite place to play on the deck. Oh well, one day I may have this quiet place.....one day.

I was playing around today, checking out other peoples' blogs and I came across one that had music. I LOVE THIS! So you will now hear a wonderful selection of music when you read our blog. Enjoy.

New video

I have been having computer difficulties in uploading videos for the blog. There are several videos that are out in cyberspace just waiting to be placed on the blog. I have no idea if they will actually make it to the blog or not. We'll see.

I did finally get success with one new video. It is in our video section at the end of the blog. Scroll down and take a look at the boys playing on the deck last week. Enjoy.

Great day

I had a small, but great start, accomplishment with Paulie. He went to sleep at his normal bedtime last night with minimal fuss and slept till 1:30. He, then of course, awake and came in with us for the rest of the night....but we are starting small and that is what works. Hoping tonight is the same and he will soon stop awaking at night.

Today I went to my first playgroup with Mothers of Moore (MOM). It was great. We went to the Imagination Station. The boys LOVED every minute of it. The ran around, played and made new friends. We then went to lunch with the other mommies at Chick-Fil-A. Paulie did great with the nap and now we are relaxing getting ready for dinner. It has been a good day and I am very hopeful for the night.

More pics of the house

I took a few pictures of the inside of the house. These are pictures of the family room and our playroom/kitchen. Every room has french doors that open to the deck. So we have alot of light in this house. Once the dining room and bedrooms are finished (not full of stuff that has to go into the garage), I will upload those pictures too. Enjoy looking at our new home....and think about a visit.

Some new toys I got at the toy store the other day.

Our living room. We have not done much in here because it seems we are always in the playroom/kitchen, which is thru the door.

Our kitchen.

A close up of the kitchen.

The playroom/office/kitchen hang out.

Our new home

I finally got around to taking pictures of the house. In my quest to return Paul to a normal sleep pattern, the boys and I spent alot of time outside yesterday at parks, in the yard, on the deck and at the Mommy Gym. It was not successful. Paul continued to have a severe reaction to his crib and seemed to know immediately when his back hit the mattress he was no longer with Mommy. So at 1AM I ended up out on the sleeper sofa - pulled out - with Paul. It was a great night.

Back to pictures of the house. These photos are of the front of the house, our backyard, deck and side yard. I will put some of the inside up once the inside is presentable. With the sleeper sofa out, well, the house looks a little bit out of sorts.

Ssssshhhhh, oh wait a minute, we're not sleeping

We have had a major shift in roles in our house. William is sleeping thru the night in his own bed. Paul, on the other hand, has decided that his room is filled with all sorts of scary things, or at least this is what I think is going on. He cries when he is put down for a nap. He cries when he is put down for bed. I don't know what the problem is. He used to be the best sleeper ever created. He would go in his bed, roll over, grab his binkies and go to sleep. But now he just can't seem to stop crying. I mean he is terrified....it is not a normal cry. So we have spent a few nights driving to get his to sleep, and then of course, 2 to 3 AM roles around and he is awake....screaming. I bring him in the bed and that just does not seem to be enough. Last night I slept on the couch. So we decided to see if sharing a room with William will help him. So today I spent the day moving furniture. The good thing is that we now will have a real guestroom - WITH A REAL BED! I am sure the parents (on both sides) will be rejoicing.

If you have ideas about the sleeping, or rather the lack of sleeping, let me know. Leave me a comment. I'll keep you all posted on it. Maybe a 3AM post will be necessary.
