I took this post from my friend's blog. Thanks Mandy. I read her's and thought it was too great to pass up....so here is mine for 2009.
1. What did you do in 2009 that you’d never done before?
I oversaw the building of our new home while Kevin was deployed. I also moved us, but I did this back in 2005 too. I ran a 5K.
2. Did you keep your New Year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I honestly can't remember if I made any New Year's resolutions.....so I guess that is good because then I won't be able to say I was not able to keep them.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes, both my brothers had babies. Tye and Kelly had a boy, Dean Lucas, and Trent and Heather had a girl, Hannah Kay.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Thankfully, no.
5. What countries did you visit?
We didn't leave the country, but we did travel around the US. We visited my parents in Delray Beach, Florida. The boys and I went to many beaches in the North Carolina and South Carolina. We visited Aunt Sara in Atlanta for her 30th birthday. We spent a great weekend with friends in Charlotte and Asheville, North Carolina.
6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
More patience with both my boys. Working on trying on to yell and scream so much at the kids, but rather try to have a more calming voice. It is a work in progress.
7. What dates from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Aunt Sara's 30th birthday party....it was a surprise and her reaction was priceless. The day we moved into our house....it was also the day Kevin returned home from deployment. The day I found out I was pregnant with our third child.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Building our home, overseeing all of the financial decisions by myself and seeing Kevin's pride in our home and in me when we walked into the house.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Being quick to anger at my kids.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
No, thank goodness.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Our house....and deciding to have the basement completely finished. Best decision yet!
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My husband....for his dedication and drive to complete goals...no matter how hard they are to achieve. And not until I started running did I get just how difficult they were to achieve.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Totally agree with what Mandy wrote.....No one that I know personally, but I could make a list of the ridiculous people that have made headlines this year...Tiger Woods, The Balloon-Boy family, Chris Brown, John and Kate Gosselin.
14. Where did most of your money go?
To the building of our home, rent for our rental home, Harris Teeter and Costco.
15. What did you get really excited about?
When Aunt Sara and my parents arrived to help me move, the day we moved in, the moment I picked up Kevin from deployment and the moment I realized my pregnancy test was positive.
16. What song will always remind you of 2009?
I have not listened much to the radio lately, so I don't really have a song that defines this year....but in terms of reading books it would be the Twilight Saga.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
– happier or sadder? thinner or fatter? richer or poorer?
Happier with less worries.
Fatter, but then I am pregnant...so it is good fat.
About the same....first we were poorer due to the economy and loosing money and now we getting stable....not back to where we were....but I don't think anyone is.
18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Having couple time with my husband and having more family time with my kids and husband.
19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Worry about hurting other people's feelings. Trying to make everyone happy.
20. How did you spend Christmas?
With my boys, my parents, my brother, his wife and their kids. Thought about Daddy, who was deployed.
21. Did you fall in love in 2009?
I'm already in love.
22. What was your favorite TV program?
There are several: Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, The Good Wife, Dancing With The Stars, Brothers and Sisters, Mad Men.
23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
No.
24. What was the best book you read?
The year of the Twilight Saga.....it is amazing.
25. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Again, I did not spend alot of time listening to music this year.
26. What did you want and get?
Great friends. It is hard making friends when you move somewhere new. I have made some very important ones in the past year....not just for my, but also for my kids.
27. What did you want and not get?
Again, totally agree with Mandy's comment.....the winning lottery ticket.
28. What was your favorite film of this year?
New Moon.....I will be buying the DVD when it comes out.
29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 36. Kevin was home from deployment so just being with my family was all I wanted.
30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Having Kevin around more often.
31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2009?
Mostly workout clothes. Typical mom uniform.
32. What kept you sane?
Again, I have to ditto Mandy's comments......That 1 to 2 hours at the gym...great for both the boys and I to have a little time apart.
33. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Sad, but true, Robert Pattinson.
34. What political issue stirred you the most?
Too many to mention.
35. Who did you miss?
Kevin, when he is away. My best friends, Sara and Adrienne. My parents. Lisa.
36. Who was the best new person you met?
There are three of them....Mandy, Erin and Heather. Thanks ladies for being great friends.
37. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009.
That if you wait long enough, have enough faith, things will work out. You will get what you want and NEED. God is really good.
38. What are you most looking forward to in 2010?
Our newest little Capozzoli. Kevin returning from deployment.
