9:30PM Kevin and I retire to bed....and actually go to sleep at this hour. We are exhausted.
11:30 I awaken from a bad dream and try to go back to sleep.
12:00AM I awaken to the sound of William's vomit hitting the hardwood floors in his room. I run to him and help him continue to throw up, try to reassure him, clean him up and the floor.
12:30 I have just retired back to my bed about 10 minutes ago and am jilted awake to the sounds of Paulie crying and screaming. I go to him and rock him for about 5 minutes. I then try to fall asleep in William's bedroom....which sort of smells like throw up.
1:00 I awake to the sounds of Kevin helping William throw up again, clean up and try to return to sleep.
3:00 I awake to the sounds of Kevin helping William, again, throw up and now also experiencing explosive diarrhea. This means William needs a new night-time pull up, which are in Paulie's room.....so Paulie is awoken and is now screaming. Kevin assists William and we can tell he is trying to be brave but is really scared from all the throwing up. He is now pretty much dry heaving. I strip our bed because of throw up and other bodily fluids while holding Paul because otherwise he will scream as much as possible if I put him down. And throughout all of this, I am trying to keep Paul and William separated in hopes that Paul won't get sick.
Kevin and William retire to William's room (William wanted to be with Daddy) to sleep and Paul and I try to fall asleep in our bed. Paul continues to wiggle, squirm and kick until 4:00AM.
6:00AM Awaken to Paulie and his new internal clock telling him it is time to get up. So I wrestle out of bed and get him a sippy of milk and turn on Noggin. I then return to bed.
6:30AM Paul comes running into the room shrieking and wondering where I am....trying to sleep is the answer.
6:45AM William awakens to continue dry heaving into the toilet and needs to change his pull up again. Kevin assists him and then returns to our bed. I clean up the mess and try to return to bed with William to comfort him. Paulie continues to run thru the house shrieking.
7:00AM I give up and get up for the morning and to feed Paul. I then begin the process of washing throw-up sheets, duvet covers, towels and washcloths. I clean and sanitize William's bedroom floor and sit down to compose this post.
So, how restful was your night?
