We arrived safe and sound yesterday. The drive from Atlanta to here was about 6 1/2 hours. The boys did great. Paulie slept the first 2 to 3 hours and so did William. Before we left Atlanta, we repacked the vehicles so that Kevin rode with William and Paul was with me. Worked great!
We had dinner in a small town, Troy, NC, and learned that North Carolina stills allows smoking in their restaurants! Amazing! Needless to say, we ended up switching tables because of this.
The kids were WIRED when we got to the hotel and really enjoyed running around the room and playing with their toys. The good thing was they did sleep all night......both of them.....in their own beds.
We got up bright and early this morning, relaxed, and headed out for a day of house hunting. The one we thought we would rent turned out to be a NO. The one we thought we would consider was a great house, just in the wrong place...so probably a NO. And then we found two homes we just did not even count on. One would work great. The second one will probably be out of our price range....but we have a call in on it. We'll see. We still don't know when we will get our household goods. Haven't heard anything from the movers....so it is time to wait, again.
The area is really nice. Feels small, laid back and very resortish. Pinehurst is the biggest of the three villages (Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Whispering Pines). It seems to have the shopping and restaurants. Not far from the village we like, Whispering Pines. We have not had a chance to get out and explore the area because of house hunting, maybe tomorrow. We'll let you know what we think.
